Do we mean Italian design? So we are talking about aesthetics.
In the Anglo-Saxon sense? So we are talking about design and functionality.
Are we referring to both? So we are talking about 13sedicesimi.
13 sixteenths or 13 blocks of sheets folded into sixteenth and thread bound.
Design is everywhere. It is found in details such as the thread binding and the canvas spine, which allow you to open the notebook at any point and have it completely flat. Surfaces usable at 100% both on the right and on the left page.
It is recognized in the hard coverwhich is the best support for the engraving of personalizations.
The numbered pages and the index are a unique feature of 13sedicesimi. Use the one and the other to create sections, archive and immediately find names, dates, thoughts, numbers and everything that risks getting confused between the pages of an agenda. You can afford to be messy. Your agenda is not.
Each opening has a blank and a lined page. How to say creativity and organization, drawings and texts. You will need both. You have them. Take advantage of them.
The closing elastic is oblique. A whim? Also, but above all a tribute to the brand: the inclination is the same as the pencil that replaces the slash between 13 and 16. An original, unique and exclusive sign.
And with such attention to detail, the utmost attention to the materials used, all certified and of European origin, could not be missing.
The craftsmanship does not allow perfect standardization, therefore there may be small variations between the products, which we like to define Unique Pieces.
Even the materials, especially the pulp-dyed recycled cardboard of the covers and the wood may not always be identical.
The covers, exposed to the sun, may fade a little.
Cardboard, like any other organic material, can be affected by humidity and temperature, so it could change and warp. If this happens, just leave the notebook under a weight and it will return perfectly flat.
Materials
Internal
Natural finish 85 gsm ivory paper. Produced with ECF cellulose, certified F.S.C. coming from forests managed according to strict environmental, social and economic standards. Acid free with alkaline reserve to guarantee long conservation – Long Life (ISO 9706).
Paper with high opacity and flatness.
Pulp-dyed recycled cardboard
The combination of different recycled fibers give the natural cardboard a very soft hand and the natural look of a raw cardboard. The natural cardboard are produced with 100% recycled raw material and colored with highly biodegradable substances.
Fiberboard (black and brown)
Cartons for industrial use, for the reinforcements of bags, visors, boxes.
Density between 1000/1150 g per mm of thickness.
Wood
The result of a particular process whereby the trunks are cut into very thin slices, stacked on top of each other then rolled with different angles that determine various grain effects, so no two covers can be the same. The thin sheet of wood is then coupled in the atelier, with vinyl glue and fiberboard.
Cork
We buy cork rolls with a thickness of 1 mm (Provenance Portugal) from an italian social cooperative and laminate them to the fiberboard.
Felt
Eco-friendly and biodegradable artisan felt of pure wool whose fibers compact together without the use of any chemical additives. Available only in natural, white and gray colors.
Italian production.
Jeans, vinyl and fabrics.
We buy used jeans (sometimes even friends give them to us) and we choose old LPs that are no longer listenable in the flea markets. The origin is sometimes not traceable but we certainly give new life to clothes and objects that would end up in landfills.
The silk of the art notebooks is that of flawed scarves produced for museum bookshops. The velvet is the one used for the realization of the sofas that does not fray when we cut it to the raw.
