Do we mean ‘design’ in the Italian sense of the word? In that case, we’re talking about aesthetics.

Do we mean ‘design’ in the English sense of the word? Then we’re talking about form and function.

Do we mean both? Then we’re talking about 13sedicesimi.

13sedicesimi means ‘thirteen-sixteenths’ i.e., 13 sections of sextodecimo folded paper with a sewn binding.

Design is everywhere. You’ll find it in details like the sewn binding and the cloth-covered spine that allow you to open a notebook at any page and lay it flat. Both the left-hand and right-hand pages can be used 100%.

You’ll find it in the hard cover, made out of the best material for the engraving of personalised words and phrases.

The numbered pages and index are an exclusive feature of 13sedicesimi products. Use both to set up sections, file away names, dates, thoughts, figures and anything that could be lost in the pages of a diary and retrieve them quickly. You can afford to be disorganised, your diary can’t.

Every spread features a blank page and a ruled page; it’s as if to say creativity and organisation, drawings and text. You’ll need both. You’ve got them. Make the most of them. The elastic on the cover is diagonal. A mere whim? Perhaps, but it’s above all a tribute to our logo: it’s placed at the same angle as the pencil that replaces the slash between 13 and 16. An original, unique and exclusive mark.

Design: Silvia Caligaris.

And with our utmost attention to detail, we couldn’t leave out maximum care for materials used: they are all certified and Made in Europe.

Our handmade products do not guarantee perfect material standardization. Notebook covers may vary in tone and some colours may fade a little when exposed to sunlight.

Like any other organic material, our cardboard can suffer from dampness and abrupt changes in temperature and warp. Should this happen, just leave the notebook under a heavy weight and it will recover its perfectly flat shape.

This was originally developed as cardboard for industrial use and was used to strengthen bags, visors and boxes. Density between 1000-1150 g per mm thickness.

The result of a special manufacturing process where logs are cut into extremely thin slices, piled on top of each other and then laminated at different angles, creating different grain effects. That’s why no two covers can possibly be the same. The thin wood sheet is then coupled with natural card. FSC certified.
